Research Fellow Duke-NUS Medical School

Background of Organization

Duke-NUS Medical School was established in Singapore in 2007 with the aim of increasing the supply of doctors in Singapore, while simultaneously training clinicians in cutting-edge research methodologies. The Signature Programme in Health Services and Systems Research (HSSR) is one of the five Signature Research Programmes at Duke-NUS. HSSR supports and conducts research that bridges theory and practice in a way that both advances the state of the scientific theory and is sufficiently pragmatic to actually improve healthcare practice. HSSR’s mission is to: (1) pursue a world-class research agenda; (2) impact health care policy and practice; and (3) expand HSSR research capacity.

The research programme at Duke-NUS is aimed at producing independent researchers who are competent in translating methods and interventions to the Asian context. Given the unique position of Singapore geographically and culturally, the program provides excellent training in comparative health systems research and cross-cultural studies of healthcare systems.
